Okay, okay...I know that one TomPreston has already posted a journal on this...damn he beat meeeeee... BUT...my thoughts on it...I know that its in (everybody shudders) 3D...but I really don't see the big deal on it.
Even though its just a teaser trailer...BlueSky Studios managed to capture that genuine Schultz feel to the cartoon...all the humor and modesty of the characters is present within a few seconds...and its...just really cute!! I'm sorry but it is...its very cute looking...nailed that one for sure. Was it necessary for the movie to be in 3D? Could they pull off a big budget blockbuster for 2015 with just 2D? Probably...past animated movies have shown us that...but I'm not completely against 3D movies as long as they're done right.
Now no one can judge an entire movie just from a minute long teaser trailer...but from those few seconds of screen time for ol Snoopy and Charlie Brown...looks okay so far. I really hope they can pull off a funny, quirky and emotional animated feature thats also loyal to the Peanuts' style of humor and art direction. As long as they don't go the route of catering to the lowest common denominator of hammering in a barrage of poopoo barf/fart jokes, and unnecessary pop culture references...that would make me happy as a fiddle.
Anyway, I think it looks downright adorable...and hopefully will introduce youngsters to the classic comedy that is the Peanuts Gang and satisfy the cartoon veterans...your thoughts...or not...bye for now!!
